This week we almost had a full house of tour events, only the PGA Champions Tour had the week off, and the LPGA and LET hosted a joint event – The Evian Masters – which is billed as the new fifth major.

This is the week that Jim Furyk became only the 6th player to achieve a sub 60 round of golf in a tour event. To find out how the tour, golf brands, golf sponsors and professional players reacted and shared the news on social media read our special report: Jim Furyk and Social Media

Despite the golden moment that Jim Furyk and his round of 59 presented to the PGA and the BMW Championships we think they missed a trick. Even if they had made more of it, they would have hard pushed to beat the amazing work performed in France at the Evian Masters. This week’s winner on the Tour Social Media Score Card is the Evian Masters who managed to post 48 new videos to YouTube and 300 Tweets – they even have a Pinterest board. The only thing that let them down is that the event website was not responsive, but we can’t have everything.
